LOCATION Situated at the mouth of the Ume River, Kipling's overlooks Matusadona National Park and commands sweeping views of Lake Kariba. From this idyllic location visitors have ample opportunity to enjoy in full, all that Kariba has to offer.

THE LODGE Designed by top architect Ivan Pantic, Kipling's has been built in harmony with the environment. The ten brick and thatch chalets provide guests with luxury accommodation and en suite bathrooms. Each chalet has a private viewing deck with spectacular views encompassing the lake and the nearby Matusadona Mountains. The honeymoon suite is spacious and occupies the prime viewing site.

The dining room and main deck are located in the central building which is characterised by steeply pitched roofs, elegant decor and an elevated viewing platform overlooking a wetland that has been created to attract bird and animal life. From here guests can enjoy excellent cuisine, and witness the unique sights and sounds of Kariba. Located on the side of the main building is the bar area and the splash pool, where guests can cool down. Kipling's interiors, which have been tastefully designed by Belinda Jones, are uniquely vibrant and colourful.

ACTIVITIES The resident professional guide and Manager, Russel Gammon, and his team, organise morning game walks and drives into Matusadona National Park. The Big Five, lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard, as well as a number of other species are found here. In the afternoon Kipling's offers boating and canoeing trips up the Ume River. Guests also have the option of going tiger fishing, or simply relaxing at the lodge.

TRANSFERS AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
From Kariba airport, transfer to Kipling's is by private air charter, Transfers can also be specially arranged from Harare, Hwange and Victoria Falls. Kipling's does not accommodate children under fifteen.
