African Sun has hotels in the major cities, which are close to shopping and business districts. They all have Business and Support Centres, Banqueting and full Conference facilities, with capacity for delegates ranging from 50 to 350 pax.

There are A la Carte and buffet-style restaurants, as well as bars. Services include airport transfers, and disabled facilities are available. Golf and a number of other sporting facilities like squash, tennis and swimming are available.
Few African capitals make such a deep impression on the visitor as Harare. On the drive from the airport, the city appears to be on the horizon almost like a mirage, a string of gleaming high rise blocks flashing in tantalizing glimpses between the jacaranda trees. |
Harare is a pearl among African cities, an ordered haven of smart shops, hotels and offices punctuated by spacious boulevards and manicured parks. In its older quarters verandas overhang the pavements, supported by wrought iron pillars belonging to a bygone age.
But an even deeper impression is made by the city's modern architecture. The clean, glassy lines of the new buildings demonstrate a culture which belongs firmly in the late twentieth century.

After dark, the city is alive, with the sounds of trumpets, guitars, and drums. Bars, hotels, and night clubs are sources of every conceivable musical offering. The talent and enthusiasm of the performers cannot fail to impress the visitor, especially one who is enjoying his first experience of African music.

The National Art gallery is famous for the role it has played in the promotion of Shona sculpture, a vibrant art form that makes full use of the country's spectacular geological inheritance.
As a school of art its origins date back no further than the 1950's, but this has been time enough for several sculptors to gain a global reputation.
The work of Sylvester Mubayi, Henry Munyaradzi, the late Joseph Ndandarika, and several others fetch huge sums on the international art market. In the wake of these men are literally thousands whose work is to be found in the curio shops and market places. |
The quality of hotel accommodation in Harare is very high. Many of the city's more noted establishments boast a choice of restaurants, offering both local dishes and international fare. However they are served Zimbabwean steaks which rank among the best in the world.
Sport is a national obsession in Zimbabwe, and this is reflected in the facilities available in the country's major cities. Football is regarded as the country's most revered sport, capable of pulling crowds sixty thousand strong. Cricket, rugby, horse racing and polo are also very popular.
For those interested in slightly more sedate activities, there are also excellent facilities for bowls and golf; every town has at least one major golf course, and there are over a dozen in the Harare district alone. |
