Faces Behind Wildways

Andrew and Michelle Friedemann
have had fifteen years experience
running Wildways Adventures.

Andrew (44) was born and raised in the Hillcrest area and educated at Hillcrest High School. He spent nine years Municipal service before resigning to start Wildways Adventures.

Passionate about mountains, Andrew has gained qualifications as an Emergency Care Practitioner and Mountaineering Instructor & Guide. He is a founding member of the SA Mountaineering Development and Training Trust, and was National Chairman of the SA Mountain Guides Association.

Andrew is registered with DEAT as a Tour Guide with mountaineering as his specialty and amongst other activities is a qualified Rescue SCUBA Diver and Skydiver.

Michelle (38) was born in Rhodesia and raised mostly in Hillcrest, with spells in Zambia, Sudan and the UK. She was educated at Hillcrest High School.

After leaving school she spent four years studying Cost and Management Accounting before moving to the Drakensberg to start Wildways Adventures with Andrew.

Michelle has also gained her National Certificate in Tourism Guiding and is registered with DEAT as such. She is an Emergency Care Practitioner, Rescue SCUBA Diver & a keen glider pilot.
