Carchele Beauty Spa
The Carchele Spa at The Plettenberg recently hosted a re-launch function to introduce their renovated house of healthy delights to their clients.
The welcoming new spa interior, complete with an additional twin treatment room, isn't the only fresh offering on the agenda!
In addition to the top of the range Decleor facial products, the spa now stocks a product range called "OPI", giving your hands and feet a facial experience and "Acadayspa", for complete body care, detox, relaxation and slimming. |

Golfing on the Garden Route
The Garden Route is fast establishing itself as the golfing mecca of South Africa (indeed in 2006, the prestigious International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) voted the Garden Route in South Africa, as the “Best Golf Destination in Africa and the Middle East). Here are some of the recommended courses in the area:
- Fancourt, situated in George, offers four magnificent courses, including the links course which played host to the Presidents Cup.
- George Golf Club is a highly rated and mature parklands golf course and shows a true reflection to it’s catch phrase, “Charming and onderful”.
- Pezula Championship Course is situated in one of the most spectacular locations in South Africa. Situated atop the famous Knysna Heads, the high vantage point allows for majestic panoramic views. On one side lies the tranquil Knysna lagoon and the other side is the Indian ocean.
- Simola Golf Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, was opened by the “Golden Bear” himself in September 2005 and also boasts magnificent views of the Knysna lagoon.
In the town of Plettenberg Bay itself, you will find two superb golf courses, namely:
- Goose Valley Golf Course, designed by Gary Player, is classified as a links / parklands course and has earned its reputation as an immaculately manicured and challenging 18 hole golf course. Situated just 5km from The Plettenberg hotel, this course is one of our favourites.
- Plettenberg Bay Country Club is nestled in the Piesang Valley, also just 5km from the town of Plettenberg Bay. Having recently undergone a massive upgrading programme, this parklands golf course offers a very challenging 18 holes.
